Pyke Cottage is in a convenient location in historic Clyde, within walking distance to great places to eat (Oliver’s; Three Peaks Coffee) and the beautiful Clutha River. The host, Peter, is super friendly and welcoming and makes you feel right at home, but leaves you to your privacy. The bed was really comfortable and the air conditioning was a welcome amenity on a hot Central Otago night. We had a great stay and can highly recommend the cottage for a couple or solo traveller!

Excellent breakfast with home made bread, yoghourt, etc. Comfortable bed with AC in case it is very hot. Very good facilities and very quiet at night. Location is excellent, being very close to Clyde and Alexandra where there are good restaurants. For the sporty types, it is close to the hiking/cycling trails and a visit to nearby Cromwell is worthwhile, especially the Goldfields Mining Centre where you can learn all about the 1860s gold rush. Finally, there is winery that you can visit within a kilometer!

The views are incredible and the property has everything you need for a few nights. The bathroom is a very good size and the shower is good. Nice, comfy bed and the kitchen has enough to get you by.

Everything was clean and new. We appreciated the milk in the fridge and the chocolate slice was delicious. Wish we’d had more time to spend in Clyde and surrounding area. We will be back!

This was my second visit to the cottage, and it was just as fantastic as the first time. Everything about the place feels cosy and warm, making it a perfect retreat. The location is spot-on – peaceful yet convenient – and the hosts are truly welcoming, going above and beyond to make sure everything is just right. One of the real highlights is the breakfast – a massive bonus that sets this place apart. It’s clear a lot of care and thought goes into every detail, and it shows. I’ll definitely be back again. Highly recommended!
