We loved the reception by Mrs Julia, who was very kind and friendly. She gave us tips on restaurants nearby. We also enjoyed the wineyard at the bottom of the hotel and that we were allowed to walk around at any time. The place is very calm and quiet, perfect for a escape from the city hustle and bustle. Mr Jose was also of extreme kindness setting us up with a lovely boat tour through Douro on my bday. We had just asked where we could arrange for the tour and he went all the way calling the person and helping us organize. Breakfast was delicious and all the staff was really attentive. We highly recommend a stay with them!

Travelling as a solo female traveler can sometimes be intimidating but Rosa was delightful and made me feel like part of the family. I could not ask for a better host, she was kind, caring and an all round wonderful person. All round the service from everyone is some of the best I have ever experienced. The property perfect, rooms are spacious and cleaned to an impeccable standard. It is located in an ideal location if you have a car roads to the property are not narrow and there is parking on site. I will definitely be returning to the property and I look forward to seeing Rosa and her family again.

We felt that every detail was invested at the best possible level, we really enjoyed the silence and the space that the place has to offer. We strongly recommend taking a picnic basket, it's worth it!
