The personnel of the maison is utterly welcoming, friendly and helpful. They speak French, Italian, and some English - beside Kirundi. The personnel can support you in finding local drivers and guides to visit Bujumbura and the nearby hills and provinces. Notice that this is a non-profit, social impact business: the Maison is managed by Fondazione San Filippo Neri, based in Bujumbura, yet with an Italian founder (padre Luigi Vitella). The Foundation supports Burundian orphans, widows, and disadvantaged people and families. The activity of the Maison (and of the Amahoro bar) is aimed at funding the Foundation and promoting employment and economy in this part of the city. In case you are interested to know more about their activities and projects, the Maison's personnel can organize presentations and guided tours.
