It’s only a small place, but that made it very homely. The rooms are a good size, clean and comfortable. The food in the restaurant was excellent. I had a great fish dish for dinner. The host , Val, is most welcoming and I had a great evening siting at the bar, although I wish my French was better. It’s located reasonably centrally, about 15min walk to the centre.

Hotel Club du Lac Tanganyika is located in a wide park that ends up on a marvelous beach on the banks of the Lake Tanganyika. The pool, room location on the lake, the glorious breakfast, dinner, bar service. Including being able to go from morning swim directly to breakfast (also lakeside). The shop. The drum and dance performance. Staff delightful and accommodating. Room spaciousness and decor, bathroom efficient design. Balcony and its lakeside view. The synchronicity that colleagues happened to be staying there as well resulting in productive meetings, exchanges and planning.

Its a very basic but clean place to stay in a safe and friendly neighbourhood. The staff were very helpful and were very quick in replying to my questions before my visit. Breakfast which was served in another property, located about 20 metres away, was tasty and they also had a lovely bar where you could sit on the terrace and watch the world go by. It's a 20usd taxi ride from the airport and is very good value for money.
