Located in Iðunnarstaðir, 43 km from Thingvellir National Park, Basalt Hotel provides accommodation with a restaurant, free private parking and a bar. It was an oasis. The evening meal was delicious and hot tub a bonus. Staff were friendly, informative and incredibly helpful. Thank You.

This place is brand new and amazing. The hot tubs and sauna that overlook the glacier are definitely the highlight. If you get lucky (like me) you might even get to see the aurora while sipping an excellent cocktail in the hot tub. Other than that all the staff were very kind and professional. The hotel's restaurant is great and offers amazing food made with local ingredients. Also their signature cocktails were delicious.

Fosshotel Mývatn is located next to Lake Mývatn, 6.8 km to the Mývatn Nature Baths. The hotels provides free WiFi and free private parking. What a wonderful hotel. Everything was spotless and well designed. The view of Lake Mývatn was just awesome from the bar and the restaurant. Best location possible. Wish we could have stayed much longer. Will use this hotel again on my next visit. Food in the restaurant was very good both diner and breakfast. Bonus was seeing the northern lights dance above the lava fields surrounding the hotel.

Gym and saunas (yes TWO saunas) were clean, modern and a great way to unwind, as was the outdoor jacuzzi

Room is very spacious with a nice bath tub so my little one could take a bath. The room is very clean. Fabulous food at the restaurant

Opened in June 2018, Hotel 1001 Nott offers modern accommodation 5 km from Egilsstadir. The hotel features outdoor hot tubs overlooking Lake Lagarfljót. There is also an on-site bar. The owner was very friendly and helpful. All meals were delicious. The location on the lake is beautiful. Vök Baths are close by.

Siglo Hotel by Keahotels in Siglufjörður has 4-star accommodation with a terrace and a bar. Offering a restaurant, the property also has a shared lounge, as well as a sauna and a hot tub. Very luxurious hotel in the beautiful village of Siglofjordur. The rooms are spacious and well equipped. They have a great restaurant and a small heated outdoor pool. I've been here twice, hand down best hotel in the wide region.
