Situated in Ruhengeri, 45 km from Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, Karisimbi Cave Resort features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. I loved that it was a women owned eco resort. No plastic water bottles. The staff was wonderful. Helped me beyond belief getting the tour I really wanted with a great guide. Good food and even an espresso machine!!!

We had a wonderful stay for 2 nights here - from a delicious welcome drink on our arrival to cleaning our boots after a days hiking and hot water bottles in the beds at night, the staff were all excellent! The food was great and we were offered a choice of taking our breakfast early before chimpanzee tracking or taking it to go - normally packed hotel breakfasts are disappointing but this was one of the best - freshly prepared fruit, pizza, cookies and cakes - it was delicious and perfect after a mornings hiking! If you are coming to Nyungwe Forest National Park (which is a must if you visit Rwanda!) then you absolutely have to stay here! Thank you to all of the staff who made our time here special!

Akagera Ihema lodges has a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Akagera. Absolutely stunning view over the park and seeing the sunrise from the little veranda was a highlight. The restaurant has a beautiful view and the food very delicious and generous portions. The bed is big and very comfortable and amazing shower! The extra bed/cribs worked well for our kids. All the staff and manager were so friendly and helpful to us all.

Situated in Kibuye, 40 km from Mukura Forest Reserve, Umurobyi Lodge features accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a shared lounge. Everything was amazing. We received an exceptional welcome, the food was healthy and delicious, and we got all the assistance we needed for touring. My kids loved the lodge and all the activities they experienced, including cruising on Lake Kivu, swimming, enjoying the fishermen experience, and of course, playing cards. We had an unforgettable time. The owners, Aicha and Ivan, are incredibly kind and caring. It was a wonderful vacation. Umurobyi is a peaceful and quiet place - with a great view, perfect for relaxing and unwinding.

It was so quiet and chilled and the food was excellent. The staff were really friendly as were the other guests….. slept like a log, glorious views from our cabin and there was plenty to do (if u wanted to)…, We did a lovely boat trip around the other islands and a fantastic bike mountain bike ride thru rural Rwanda. We even stopped at a school to meet the children and see them in their classrooms…
