The facility was new and spotlessly clean. Our room was spacious and comfortable with plenty of outlets, closet space, a large bathroom with an excellent hot shower. The window opening enabled a nice breeze. The breakfast offered lots of options, especially baked goods, juices, and coffee. The bar, lobby and lounge areas were comfortable for sitting. The hotel staff were both welcoming and accommodating with all our requests including storage over two nights between stays while we made a three day trip to El Chaten. We highly recommend this hotel, which is just a ten minute walk to the bus terminal.

Los Ponchos Hotel is located just 2 km from central El Calafate. Its warm rooms feature Hispanic-American art and views of Lake Argentino.

The friendliness and hospitality were just amazing. While we were making check in the receptionist admitted that they need a little bit extra time to get our room ready so they asked us to go to the lobby and offered us hot sandwiches, beer and wine for free of charge meanwhile they were getting our room prepared. It was a simple but excellent gesture.

Very clean, at the main street where you can get food, souviniers and looking for local tours. Furniture is new.. simple. Receptionist very friendly eventho not manage to speaknin english. Highly recommended.

Hotel location is up on the hill about 7 minutes walk downhill into town. Easy walk and nice to be up high with a view over the town. Nice professional hotel with staff that speak English very well. Beds were good. Pillows very soft would be my only negative. Restaurant has great food at good prices. A nice variety of choices, instead of the usual hamburgers, sandwiches and pizza's everywhere else.
