I loved our room with a bath in the room. When we came, it was a very rainy day, so that was a perfect way of relaxing after a long drive to the Lake District. Breakfast was great, fresh and good quality.

Situated 10 minutes of walking to Windermere or Bowness, Hawksmoor Guest House has free Wi-Fi and plenty of off-road parking.

The Rooms at the Apple Pie was perfectly located in the centre of Ambleside, an easy walk to all of the shops. Our room was an attic room - the ceiling definitely is a bit low for someone who is tall, but it was a great size and very comfortable, we had a great sleep. There was an honesty bar system for cokes and crisps among other things, but we had both breakfast and lunch (and an apple pie) from the delicious bakery and cafe next door. Highly recommend.

The service is thoughtful, with attentive details. The staff is very friendly, and the room is beautifully decorated. There is a bus stop at the entrance and a shortcut to the lake. This hotel is definitely worth a try.
