The vinyl record player in the room was a true gem. The reception area had a huge display of great records which added such a special touch. Also the dollhouse which covered coffee, tea and mugs was really nice. Staff and location just superb to explore this cute town without a car.

The staff were so friendly and accommodating. We had a problem with the electric lock on our room and the staff went above and beyond to fix it (in silence whilst our baby slept in the room!) and compensate us for the slight inconvenience. Faye on reception was particularly amazing - thank you Faye!

superb hotel , great location, short walk into the Historic city . booked in a bit of a hurry TBH , liked the pictures and the price , very pleasantly surprised when greeted by the very friendly and helpful reception staff, all the staff from reception to bar and cleaning staff were all genuinely friendly and helpful . breakfast was extremely good, served on hot plates , cooked to order 100% . excellent hotel and will be back .

Very tastefully historic rooms over a great pub, with friendly staff. One of the best full English breakfasts you'll find in York. Views of the York Minster..... Felt like stepping back in time while avoiding being cheesy.
