Boutique Hotels in Kolkata

I was totally amazed by the attentiveness of the hotel staff! From pre-arrival where they ensured I had all information I needed to connect with my driver at the airport, to the reception I was given at the hotel where offering a warm memorable welcome was obviously important to them - just sensational. The room was absolutely comfortable with very nice bath products. The room service was efficient and the food delicious. I left very early the next morning but this experience has ensured that I will return again in under two weeks when I will be in Kolkata again.

We stayed for 10 night at this beautiful hotel. Front desk staff were wonderful, specially Bidisha, who was beyond excellent, very responsive to all our needs; Hrishav always greeted us with a smile and enquired as to any needs, everyone was very kind. We used In room dining for 2 breakfasts, and a few other meals, all excellent, special mention to the Thai curry and the club sandwiches (yummm); Housekeeping was immaculate and coming back to a beautifully made up room every evening was a great pleasure; the Tess restaurant had a delicious menu which we used several times for lunch, the hostesses were very pleasant and helpful. The Location of the hotel was very convenient for the purpose we were there in Kolkata, though the access road is narrow and crowded, but once you enter through the gates, one is transported to a lovely, modern, and elegant oasis of calm. Congratulations to the Hyatt Centric staff for making our stay truly comfortable and a home away from home.

Excellent facilities and service

This is the third time I stayed at The Sonnet in the last 4 years. Clearly, I like the place. I do not have that much to add to what I wrote in the previous cases. The Sonnet provides excellent value for money. This is not a 5 star facility but the facilities provided are quite adequate. The last time I was there the place was undergoing renovations. But they seem to have been completed. The swimming pool is open and so is the gym. The rooms are decently sized. My room (501) had a very comfortable double bed, a sofa and a large desk, which was excellent for working. The bathroom is not huge but adequate and the water pressure is great. The breakfast buffet (now served again in the ground floor restaurant following renovations) is quite decent from my perspective; it contains most things most people want. The location right next to City Centre Mall is great and there is ample parking right in front. The staff as in pretty much every place I have stayed at were extremely friendly. I ordered room service one night and the focaccia bread chicken sandwich was a very large serving! To put this in context, during this trip I stayed at three different places n Kolkata, Raakjutir (close to Hyatt Regency), the Westin in Newtown and The Sonnet.

Staff were super professional and friendly - especially those in charge of the rooms.
