Rooms at Villa Vicuña Cafayate Boutique Hotel have cosy fur rugs, ornamental lamps and fine solid wood furniture. All are equipped with air conditioning, cable TV and heating. Free Wi-Fi is available. We enjoyed everything about our stay at Villa Vicuña Wine & Boutique Hotel. Our only regret, truly, is that we were only guests of Villa Vicuña for only a single night. Though it is unlikely we will return to Cafayate, there is no doubt that if circumstances do delivery us back into its embrace that we will look no further than Villa Vicuña for accommodation.

Salta’s Main Square is 300 metres away. Great location, exceptional service, nice, upscale feel. Excellent restaurant on site, great breakfast.

Offering a seasonal outdoor pool and views of the mountains, Posada de los Poetas Hotel Boutique is set in San Lorenzo in the Salta Province Region, 10 km from Salta. Free WiFi is provided throughout the property and free private parking is available on site. The staff were so warm and welcoming after our long drive from Cafayate. They have excellent bottled wine at reception and also delicious empanadas. The large room has every convenience and comfortable bed. Also, a private terrace with table & chairs. The breakfast is extensive and delicious including the coffee! We liked the hotel so much that we returned early from Humahuaca to spend an extra night. I highly recommend this hotel in quiet San Lorenzo rather than Salta for anyone traveling up to see the Humahuaca sites.

It’s one of the sweetest boutique hotels we’ve ever stayed at! It’s a tastefully renovated old historic building right next to the beautiful central Plaza. All the restaurants, caffès, crafts shops, etc are with a minute walk, literally. We had an excellent first floor room, Jasmine, opening into a charming inner courtyard, which we had totally to our own at the time of our stay. In spite of a central location it is exceptionally quiet and peaceful. The staff was a true pleasure to deal with. Couldn’t be any better, highly recommended

Decorated with gabled wooden ceilings and tiled floors, heated rooms at Sala de Payogasta are very airy. All of them have private bathrooms. Staying at this real functioning estancia was one of the highlights of our trip through South America. Alejandro and Elvira were amazing hosts, who made us feel extremely welcome and treated us like family. The property is amazing, and the views from the dining room are incredible. Comfortable beds, a great shower, and a delicious breakfast in the morning!

Decorated with unique pieces of furniture made by local craftsmen, rooms at Hotel Hacienda de Molinos have scenic mountain views. They feature tiled floors and 4-poster beds. The house was the residence of the last Spanish Governor. The breakfast and dinner were excellent. The staff at both the reception and the dining room is very nice. The room is spacious with a very modern washroom.

At the restaurant of Altalaluna Hotel Boutique & Spa guests can enjoy a chef-designed menu with regional specialties and carefully selected wines from the exclusive wine cellar and local vineyards. This is the best hotel we have been to in Argentina, the place is just wonderful and the employees are very nice! The location is beautiful, surrounded by vineyards, the hotel's architecture is stunning (it looks like a Spanish "masia" or a countryside house in Italy's Tuscany). When we arrived they gave us a room in the first floor and asked for a room in the floor above to have better views, they did all they could to change our room free of charge. They also offered a free wine-tasting, so we had the chance to try all of their wines with some cheese platters (white, red, rose, from the cheaper end to the very expensive end) with a professional sommelier. The hotel offers some activities (we did a horseback-riding excursion). In the evening the garden and the terrace are full of people enjoying some nice wine, the atmosphere is really magical. A lot of people ignore the area of Cafayate (and head to Mendoza instead), that is a big mistake, not only do I think that Cafayate wine is nicer but the area is beautiful. I strongly recommend staying here!
