We had a last minute detour to Ypres and I booked the Albion because of its proximity to the Menin gate. I can’t say enough about the hospitality of this family run hotel. When I think of our short stay in Ypres I may remember chatting with Daphne at the Albion desk and bar as much as our visit to the Flanders Museum just around the corner! Besides the kindness of the owners, our room was modern but with architectural features that honored the past. The high tech skylight looked up on the steeple of the nearby church. The bar was comfortable with great local beers. And be sure to include breakfast! A spread worthy of the cost. Thank you Daphne and the entire family for your hospitality!

This hotel is surrounded by gardens with a pond, a secluded terrace and a petanque square. Very courteous, efficient and helpful staff. Clean, spacious and comfortable room. Wonderful breakfast. Nice outside dining area. Large parking lot. Central location. I seldom rate hotels as a 10, but for my group and I, the Ariane excelled in all counts!

The owner of the property, absolutely top man he was not in your face but he was there if you needed anything, nothing was too much trouble. We arrived on two motorcycles he let us store them in his garage. Location was just a ten minute walk to the center property was spotlessly clean, this was the first place in two weeks that had tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Breakfast was very good.

Free WiFi access is also available throughout the entire accommodation. This hotel was really a surprise. We booked late in the afternoon on the way from one place to another. It was so comfortable! It was immaculately clean and there is a nice restaurant attached as well as a cute gift shop. The items in the gift shop were unexpected and very reasonably priced. I bought a few Christmas gifts here. I would highly recommend this hotel I also want to mention the front desk clerk was as nice and friendly as she could be. Would definitely stay again if we are in the area.

Rooms at La Porte Cochere are spacious and feature wooden floors and soft lighting. They are equipped with a desk and a small seating area. They also feature separate bathroom with a shower. The hosts were excellent. Very helpful for planning my days and recommending things to see and do. The room was large, very comfortable, quiet and spotlessly clean. The bnb is only five minutes walk from historical downtown, restaurants and museums but I never felt unsafe even walking after dark.
