We got ourselves into a bit of bother when going back to English Country Garden to retrieve some belongings that we left behind and he went out of his way without hesitation to help us when we got stranded in the Cape Breton wilderness. The stay at English Country Garden was very comfortable and Heike and Jalal were very welcoming hosts, offerring great advice on things to do, where to eat, etc.

It is located an hour of the beginning/end of the Cabot Trail. The view is beautiful and it was stunning to sit outside and eat our delicious breakfast. The owner Kim was very friendly and welcoming.

We arrived early and our room wasn't quite ready so he invited to use the kayaks while the room was being cleaned. We had a great paddle around a small island and returned to our ready room. The porch area was cozy with beautiful views over the water. We watched the full moon rise. It was a perfect evening and a great day staying at the Dunlop in Baddeck.
