The family-run Seehotel Gotthard in Weggis on the shore of Lake Lucerne, 25 km from Lucerne, offers 2 restaurants, a pizzeria, a bistro and rooms with scenic views and free WiFi. In the summer months guest enjoy free access to the heated outdoor pool of the neightbouring hotel Beau Rivage. My stay here was only for one night, but the hospitable hosts made it very comfortable and unforgettable. My room was large, with a large bathroom and a lovely terrace. The hotel has a restaurant by the lake with stunning views and serves delicious dishes grilled by the hosts in front of gests. Beatifull beach with sun loungers and access to lake. Lovely breakfast. I definitely recommend this hotel and wish to come back again. Thanks!

The Lubo - self check-in is located in the center of the city of Lucerne in the historic old town and only a 10-minute walk from Lucerne main station and just 200 metres from the shores of Lake Lucerne, the Chapel Bridge, and the closest bus stop. Free WiFi is available. It was newly opened in December 2022 and is a fully automated boutique hotel with flexible room access with mobile key. We were lucky enough to get a free room upgrade for our stay as they had over booked their standard rooms. The location was ideal right in the heart of the old town and only a 10 min walk to the train station. The facilities, comfort and cleanliness were top marks with washing machines available in the downstairs common area and a kitchenette with sink, hob and dishwasher in our room. Only wish we had booked a longer stay.

Château Gütsch is set in a 19th-century castle, overlooking the town of Lucerne and Lake Lucerne, with views to the Rigi Mountain. The interior was renovated and designed by Martyn Lawrence Bullard. Free WiFi access is available. Beautiful location with an amazing view. The room was quite spacious with a large bathroom and good shower. Breakfasts were excellent with plenty of choice. We dined in the restaurant one night which was a treat - an amazing chandelier to see there. Service was attentive but discreet, food pricey for what it was but it was still enjoyable experience. Staff were very friendly and equally helpful. The Funicular which took you down to street level was a real bonus & made getting into Lucerne v easy. Parking also on site which was v useful. Staying here was one of the highlights of our Switzerland/Italy road trip.

The restaurant serves Swiss and international cuisine and a selection of fine wines and beers. This hotel was amazing! We got a room overlooking the lake and were not disappointed. The window/door/balcony took up the whole wall that overlooked the lake providing stunning views the entire time. They provided a bowl and bed for our dog that was traveling with us and greeted her along with us every time we entered or exited. The staff was super attentive and helpful. The restaurant was delicious and the menu is seasonal. It’s in a small but cute town with easy access to the bus that takes you to the nearest train station, it is also right by a ferry during the summer. They have lots of brochures for information on activities nearby and will gladly help you plan any excursions. There’s lots of storage space for all of your equipment and clothes.
