I’d stay again in a heartbeat. The pictures don’t do it justice (the rooms are actually nicer than depicted on some of the photos!). They made our stay extra special by bringing treats to celebrate my mom’s birthday and Mother’s Day. We so much appreciate all the kindness and these sweet little gestures.

Lost Iguana Resort and Spa offers an outdoor pool, a gym and lush gardens with a maze. Each room has views of the Arenal Volcano, located just a 25-minute drive away. Beautiful hotel, with the most stunning views across to volcano arenal. Felt incredibly special to stay there - and the staff were really really lovely. Food was great at the restaurant (we had a lunch and a dinner there - both excellent). Also beautiful gardens with frogs and animals and hummingbirds. Idyllic.

Stunning view of the volcano, great garden grounds and swimming pool. Liked the bungalow style rims, which give good privacy. Excellent restaurant

Close to the airport Beautiful surroundings, gorgeous setting for the restaurant, lovely pool Room was a good size and was clean The staff was exceptional, helpful and friendly especially Jennifer at the reception desk, who spoke excellent English Reasonably priced

Offering an outdoor pool, Hotel La Guaria Inn & Suites is located in Alajuela, just a 5-minute drive from Juan Santamaría International Airport. I chose this hotel again before and after my flight to San Jose. The staff is really helpful and the free airport transfer is convenient. It's a big improvement that breakfast was available already at 5:45 - it was very good to grab something to eat before our long trip.

Located just outside Arenal Volcano National Park, this eco-friendly hotel offers an outdoor pool, a spa and a grill restaurant, surrounded by tropical gardens. I loved everything about the experience - the hotel is superb, we arrived at 5pm and jumped directly into the hotel's hot tubs with hydro-massage to relax from the trip. The breakfast is great, the tours and activities proposed by the hotel are amazing - we tried a combo of visits for a whole day and were so pleased with the experience and the guide. The rooms are perfect, the commun areas are so beautiful, full of nature and plants. Overall a wonderful place.
