The room was spacious and featured a well-equipped kitchen, plus breathtaking mountain views. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, making it hard to leave. We only wish we could have stayed longer.

Hotel Makanda by the Sea, a luxurious adults-only retreat nestled in the lush tropical paradise of Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica. Our hotel offers the perfect blend of serenity and sophistication, designed exclusively for adults seeking a tranquil escape. The whole environment was simply fabulous! The room, our terrace, the pools, the service and the food... everything was just perfect. Even nature was on our side with a sloth on the premises and a whale jumping in the distance.!! Walking around can be a challenge due to steep walk ways. But the Hotel is offering internal transport services.

This hotel is located about 2 km from Quepos, 5 minutes’ drive from Manuel Antonio National Park. Its spacious suites have a kitchenette and jungle views, and there is an outdoor pool.

From your suite you can watch sloths, toucans, monkeys and iguanas. Each suite in Hotel Plaza Yara has a seating area with sofa and cable TV, and the kitchenette has a microwave. We were very lucky to get a very spacious room on the pool terrace. The room and building in general looked better than the pictures. We really appreciated the room facilities. The staff were friendly and professional. We really appreciated the little gift on departure.
