Hôtel Restaurant Spa Le Sauvage, formerly the Clarisses Monestary, is located in the historic district of Besançon, 500 metres from the citadel's ancient walls. Everything was lovely. We didn't eat there so can't say anything about food/restaurant. Room, spa, parking all very good.

The Best Western Citadelle is located in the historic city center of Besançon, a 5-minute walk from the Doubs River and the Citadelle. Free Wi-Fi is available in the rooms. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable in reply to our questions. Bed was comfortable as was the room. Everything was clean and very quiet. Breakfast was quite adequate for us.

Set in the heart of the Jura vineyards, Hôtel Auberge de Chavannes is located in Chavanne and provides soundproofed accommodations. You can relax on the furnished terrace, by the garden. Really welcoming and lovely stay. We were very late due to massive delays to our eurotunnel crossing and the hotel were brilliant. Shame we missed out on dinner. The menu looks amazing.
