Le Grand Hotel is a designer hotel situated in central Poitiers, within walking distance of Notre-Dame la Grande and Poitiers Palace. It offers air-conditioned guest rooms with a contemporary décor. The room we had was a generous size, had tea/coffee making facilities and a terrace. The bathroom had a bath with a shower over which had good water pressure. Bed was clean and comfortable, air con worked well. The location was perfect, straight out of the front door into the centre of town with loads of bars and restaurants to choose from. Secure underground parking is a great asset and was around 8€ for the night.

Tea bags, coffee capsules, 1L water provided and refilled every day. Exceptional experience staying in a converted church. Staff very friendly. Rooms are quiet, windows can be opened. Very good restaurant and bar. Bus nearby, train station within walking distance.

Maison d’hôtes Villa Richelieu vous accueille au cœur de Châtellerault, dans une demeure de charme du début du XXᵉ siècle avec jardin, terrasse et piscine extérieure. The innkeeper was kind, gracious, accommodating - couldn’t have been better!

This charming guest house is set in a 16th-century chateau, just 4 km from Futuroscope and 9 km from Poitiers. It offers a garden with swings and a swimming pool. The host endeavors to facilitate the check-in (key box). One of the two bedrooms we got was under the rooftop and could get warm by hot or sunny weather, but windows had been opened and the "aircon" helped quickly getting the temperature back to comfortable levels. Both rooms had their own kitchen with all needed hardware. The breakfast was abundant with eggs and cheese available. The hosts share their swimming pool. A history of the castle is available in the bedrooms. The area is quite rural and I got trails for jogging in the fields around. My son enjoyed the quality of the internet connection. The ride/ driving to the nearby "Futuroscope" is only about 20mn. Nice view from our bedroom on the sunrise and just-harvested wheat fields.

In the centre of Lussac-les-Chateaux, Les Orangeries is a typical country-style house with an outdoor swimming pool and free WiFi. It has been awarded the European Ecolabel. This hotel is rated 3 stars but should be rated 5. The staff, room, and bed are brilliant. Both the dinner at the restaurant and breakfast are mouth watering. The garden area is very peaceful. I wish the day and the pool water was warmer because the pool is a highlight. For cyclists there is safe and secure area for your bikes. I would recommend a stay here for a couple of days.
