Each 10to12 guest room has an en-suite bathroom, flat-screen TV with DVD player, and tea/coffee making facilities. I did not think the room would be so lovely, opulent, and spotless. The hotel staff treated me like family, and as a traveler who is far from home, their thoughtful actions warmed my heart.

Breakfast was delicious, so was the pizza and steak we had for dinner. Staff very friendly, pub very cosy with the log fire. Very comfy bed and all the facilities we could need in the room.

With views across the Alkham Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, The Marquis of Granby was transformed in 2008 to combine timeless rural England with boutique-style luxury. It is 'Highly Commended' by the AA. Stayed here for 2 days to attend a local wedding. Couldn’t have been nicer. The food was great, staff lovely, rooms comfortable. The cookies they put in your rooms are also delicious and such a nice touch.

An inn since the 15th century, this beautiful property offers boutique rooms and modern stable rooms with free Wi-Fi, just a few minutes’ walk from the city centre. It has a bar, library, and its Victorian walled garden is the largest in Canterbury. The friendliness of the staff was just one of the highlights of our stay. The breakfast was amazing, with a great range of choice between cooked and continental. The room was extremely comfortable with plenty of space to spread out and not feel cramped. The shower is a proper walk-in shower and not over a bath, which for us was a much appreciated bonus. It was within easy walking distance to the city centre, Canterbury Cathedral and the bus terminal.
