The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout my visit. The location is perfect — close to shops, restaurants and public transport, yet quiet at night. Breakfast was fresh and varied. A pleasant, comfortable hotel with a warm atmosphere. I’d happily stay again.

Built as a private house in 1914, the hotel has hosted King George V and other members of the royal family. Many of the rooms and public areas retain elements of Edwardian luxury, including high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows.

Guests can enjoy an award-winning menu at the Rosette accredited Oscar's restaurant. The room was warm and welcoming. We booked 50 minutes earlier, the receptionist said, The room is ready now. Beautiful grounds to walk around. Felt like one of the elites staying there to be honest. The breakfast was really good and plenty of choice as we sat in this amazing place for our breakfast. Staff are all lovely people. The cleaners were friendly and smiley. Really impressed by the whole experience will visit again.

The Westbourne is a beautiful guest house set in the peaceful area below Biskey Howe in the Lake District. Bedrooms feature walk-in-shower rooms, luxurious toiletries and large fluffy towels.

Boat trips on Lake Windermere, which is just 1 mile away, offer uninterrupted views of the stunning mountains, bays and woodlands. The room is beautiful and the bed is wide and super comfortable. I checked in quite late, and sent the message earlier so the landlord kindly manage to sent the instruction on how to find my room key which I found it very helpful. The room amenities also quite generous with tea and coffee collections and chocolate drinks. Thanks a lot 👍🏽

The hotel has some of the best on-site facilities in the area, half of the rooms with hot tubs on private balconies, an on-site spa with poolside seating and a bar, stylish restaurant and cocktail bar, bike hire, wakesurfing and paddleboading. We came for my partners 50 birthday and had a great time.the pool was amazing.

With beautiful views of the Northern Fells, Ravenstone Lodge is 5 miles from Keswick, at the foot of Ullock Pike so you can relax in the conservatory or on the terrace and enjoy some of the best Lake District scenery. This has to be one of the most welcoming, cosy and relaxing places to stay. Hospitality at the very best. Everything was more than perfect and we hope to return another time.

Original Victorian period features adorn the property, which also offers a cosy lounge. Perfectly located on a gorgeous and quiet street, with their own parking spaces. It's just one short block from all of the shops in Windermere, and a great hike to the lookout point for the views. Hop in your car for a short journey to the lake and more shops and restaurants. Beautifully decorated, quiet, and inviting for a night in with a glass of wine in the lobby. The breakfast was lovely too, and the staff were very friendly. Loved all of the details in the room and the property. If you're interested in less touristy food, it's only a 30 minute drive to Ambleside, which has some fantastic restaurants and less tourists.

The property is non-smoking and is set 12 km from Kendal Castle. perfectly located close enough to the M6 to make this an excellent half way stop to Scotland (from London). very good food and breakfast. comfortable room and everyone’s friendly. we stopped twice and would happily return.

Set in Ambleside, 9.4 km from World of Beatrix Potter, Stiles of Ambleside features rooms with mountain views and free WiFi. It is located 16 km from Lake Windermere and offers a housekeeping service. Muncaster Castle is 35 km from the bed and breakfast and Buttermere is 45 km away. Everything- from the room to the bath to the breakfast, everything was amazing. We had a wonderful time during the easter holidays. Highly recommend staying in the Merlot King room.
