Wonderful breakfast. rooms are big enough and modern. The hotel is walking distance from the city center. staff are so nice and the balcony is one of the best we have been. We did not want to leave the hotel! will definitely come back.

Situated in Levens, 18 km from World of Beatrix Potter, The Hare and Hounds, Levens features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. Featuring a bar, the property is located within 32 km of Trough of Bowland. The property is non-smoking and is set 12 km from Kendal Castle. We absolutely loved our two night stay at the Hare and Hounds. It is in our opinion like an old world coaching Inn. Nooks and crannies, the odd low headroom doorway etc. Friendly staff and enjoyed the food, breakfast was lovely. We really liked the fact that while dining there were no TVs on in the background. How many places are there now with TVs on while you are eating, absolutely stifling the art of conversation.

Set in Ambleside, 9.4 km from World of Beatrix Potter, Stiles of Ambleside features rooms with mountain views and free WiFi. It is located 16 km from Lake Windermere and offers a housekeeping service. Muncaster Castle is 35 km from the bed and breakfast and Buttermere is 45 km away. Everything- from the room to the bath to the breakfast, everything was amazing. We had a wonderful time during the easter holidays. Highly recommend staying in the Merlot King room.
