This historic former brewery boasts light and elegant rooms with rustic, original features and fine Egyptian linen. Centrally located, clean, dinner was delightful and delicious. Bed was very comfortable.

Originally a 16th-century coaching inn, The Crown in Old Amersham offers dining, traditional hospitality and easy access to the M40, M25, M1 and M4. Free parking and Wi-Fi is available on-site. Historic hotel. Warm and cozy. Great food. Staff super helpful.

A 10-minute walk from the centre of Great Missenden is the Nag’s Head Hotel, a 4-star 15th century inn. Guests can enjoy contemporary styled interiors, Anglo-French fusion cuisine and free Wi-Fi. Loved this place - being so old it has some quirks like sloping floors and low doorways (which added to the charm). Our beautiful room was above the dining room and at first we thought the noise might be a problem, however we probably had the best sleep of our entire holiday. Outstanding food and atmosphere, and absolutely amazing staff. Nothing was too much trouble and every single staff member we dealt with was friendly, helpful and genuine. We stayed 3 nights, but wish we could have stayed longer.

Set in a beautifully restored 17th century inn, this guest accommodation is at the foot of the Chiltern Hills and offers spacious and stylish rooms. Great vegan breakfast with hash browns, avocado, beans, mushrooms, tomatoes and sour dough toast. Our family room was lovely and it was split-level so we all felt we had our own space. The staff were all great. We had dinner one night too and there was a whole vegan menu. Would most definitely stay again.

The Olde Bell, BW Signature Collection is a modernised 3-star coaching inn providing Ilse Crawford designed restful rooms with a rustic elegance. The only suggestion I would have is to allow the opportunity to dine in one of the more original old areas.
