Housed in a restored, 300 year-old Baroque-style building, Hotel Wollner is located in a pedestrian area of Sopron's Old Town and offers free WiFi. Sopron Old Town and Hotel Wollner are what you imagine of a little town in Central Europe, kind of like the town in "Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang" but without the scary Child Catcher! The hotel is scrupulously clean, the rooms have character. In so many, especially chain hotels, you get into the room and you feel you could be anywhere in the world they are so anonymous. Not so here. Niki is the perfect host. Nothing was too much trouble for her. Ours was only a one-night stay, but it was a very enjoyable one. Breakfast was of the continental style, buffet service, and plentiful. It was included in the price we paid.

Palatinus Hotel can be found right in the historical centre, close to the symbol of the city, the Tűztorony (Fire Tower) and only 100 metres from the Liszt Ferenc conference hall. Everything, breakfast good, location nice in the old part of the city, garage convenient (in a walking distance)

Situated in the heart of the historic town, this hotel, built in 1893, is the oldest in Sopron. It offers a fusion of traditional and modern hospitality. Free WiFi is provided on-site. This is an elegant hotel from a bygone era, but the facilities and the service are everything you would expect from a modern hotel. My room was large and beautifully furnished, the delicious buffet breakfast is served in a banquet room with fancy furniture and crystal chandeliers. All of that, and the price I paid for the room was so reasonable! I kept sending pictures to my friends and family saying, "Can you believe I'm getting ALL THIS for THIS MUCH money?

Situated in the village of Balatongyörök and the Balaton Lake reachable within a 10-minute walk, Villa Astoria offers an outdoor pool, a garden and a terrace. Free WiFi is available in all areas. The Villa looked even better than we expected. The pool was crystal clean, and there was even a massage chair in the wellness area. The garden was very big. The staff was really friendly, the breakfast was nice, the room was cosy, and the whole villa was elegant, clean and of a good ambiance.

The Erhardt Panzió is located in the historic centre of Sopron, 200 metres from the Fire Tower. It offers air-conditioned rooms and private on-site parking. Staff was very accommodating. The on-site restaurant was excellent. Highly recommend this stay.

Hotel Civitas is located in Sopron’s city centre, a 10-minute walk away from the train and bus stations and close to the city's medieval monuments and palaces. Friendly staff, good breakfast, comfortable rooms.
