Boasting city views, The Harrington Residency provides accommodation with balcony, around 1.5 km from Park Street Metro Station. This 2-star bed and breakfast offers a 24-hour front desk and a lift. The bed and breakfast also features free WiFi, free private parking and facilities for disabled guests. The Harrington Residency heritage building (directly opposite the American consulate) was an amazing place to stay in Kolkata. Although the tariff was a bit more than we are used to paying in India it was truly worth the extra cost. Host Noni and her staff were friendly and very attentive to all of our needs including providing medical services contact details when I became quite unwell from a chronic condition of mine. Noni also provided us with a home cooked meal (an old Kolkata healing recipe), at that time. The morning breakfast prepared by chef Gopal (chef not just a cook), was the best I have had in living memory. Noni and staff can advise re good local restaurants nearby. For transport around Kolkata (including to and from the airport) we found Uber (ride share) the best option. They would pick-up and drop off directly in front of the premises. The room we had was huge and it led onto a large open common balcony which had comfortable seating which is a great place to relax when travellers are not out and about exploring all of the sites and experiences that Kolkata has to offer. To top it all off the art gallery, which shares the second floor with the 3 rented rooms, had an exhibition during our stay and we had the good fortune to be invited to the opening and even got to speak with the artist and his wife which was a delight. We would highly recommend anyone who is visiting Kolkata to do yourselves a favour and stay at Noni's Harrington Residency.

Offering a multi-cuisine restaurant, Ethnotel, Kolkata Airport is located just 200 metres from the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport, opposite Gate Number 2.5. This 3-Star hotel provides free WiFi access. It was family friendly and staff were supoer friendly and courteous. I really enjoyed dinning there and having a couple beers in the bar by the second floor. Super close to the airport which was what I needed. Standards were high enough, I refused going to cheaper places because I needed somewhere safe and clean for my family, and they met my expectations for having spent that extra buck.
