Mirella and her beautiful energy were “bellisimo!” Cute, cute, cute, tutti! The weather was fresh and cool. Be sure to catch a tour of the Torre. Visit Arianna’s gift shop full of her art. But the breakfast in Mirella’s kitchen with the gorgeous window views were spectacular. This is the the best breakfast of our whole trip in Italy.

A few steps from the main square in Sulmona, B&B Il Marchese del Grillo offers air-conditioned rooms with free Wi-Fi. Housed in an 18th-century building, it features a panoramic terrace. Breakfast was great and served in a quaint historic room by the owner. Marta the owner was very hospitable and made you feel like you were part of her family. Great location a few minutes from the center of Sulmona. This property also included parking a very short walk away. Love this property if you are looking for a beautifully maintained historic home in Sulmona with an added bonus of the roof top terrace to view Sulmona rooftops.

Adriano is a great host. The accommodation is better than in the photos, it is stunning. Rooms are large, clean and comfortable. Loved it here, so peaceful.

Sextantio Albergo Diffuso offers unique accommodation in the fortified medieval village of Santo Stefano di Sessanio, deep in the Abruzzo hillside, at 1250 metres a.s.l. We had an absolutely fantastic stay. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The lobby was beautifully decorated and had a lovely, relaxing vibe. Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean. The bed was incredibly comfortable - I slept like a baby each night. The bathroom was very original and well-appointed. Overall, I can't say enough good things about our experience. The location was stunning, the amenities were fantastic, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure we had an enjoyable and relaxing stay. I will definitely be returning the next time I need a rejuvenating "trip into the past" getaway!

La Locanda del Parco offers rustic, elegant rooms in a quiet area with views of the Gran Sasso Natural Park. Il Giglio Rosso restaurant serves specialities of Teramo, and a selection of local wines. Large pretty property, though hard to tell from the outside because of the renovation work currently being done. Good-sized bedroom, comfortable bed, tasty and extensive breakfast, and an excellent and very well-priced restaurant. House wine was pretty good, as was the range of draft beers on tap. Food was a highlight of my stay, along with the helpful staff who provided lots of tips for hiking in the Grand Sasso area and provided detailed maps as well. Definitely a place to stay if you are visiting the Grand Sasso area.
