It was in sync with the cave dwelling concept and maintained the essence of the Matera cave living. Overall a fantastic stay and definitely recommend.

Overlooking Matera’s Sasso Barisano, Fra I Sassi Residence is set in restored 17th-century buildings inside the Matera Sassi UNESCO site area. The location and view are amazing. Matera is a very challenging place to park, but we got great advanced information and a very convenient shuttle. The cave room is perfection. It is large and comfortable with a front patio area that contains a small table and chairs to admire the incredible view.

It was the best stay we ever had - so authentic to the city and in the same time comfy! After a long day of experiencing Matera (lots of walking and climbing) we were able to enjoy the bathtub and had a great rest! The breakfast was also very delicious. We recommend this property with both hands! ❤️
