I felt comfortable and safe as a solo traveler and absolutely LOVED the location. There was a parking lot close by in which I used to store my rental car while I stayed here. Hotel Il Palazzo is set in the left wing of Palazzo Bartocci Fontana, a 16th-Century building halfway between Assisi's Basilica of Saint Francis and Piazza del Comune square. Loved this hotel! The staff were all excellent! We want to thank Siria and Giulio at the front desk and also Ada and the other lady in the kitchen. They were all super kind to us! They were all very patient with our child. Thank you so much!

The room was beautiful, blending an ancient construction (very deep window wells and stone walls in the breakfast room) with all the modern conveniences. The bed was the most comfortable we slept in during our two weeks in Italy. The breakfast was delicious, with a choice of main dishes that were prepared on the spot and sweet baked goods, espresso and juices. The homemade crostata was incredible.
