A Dreamy Tuscan Villa Stay – Highlight of Our Italian Road Trip This villa was the absolute highlight of our Italian road trip. Nestled among cypress-lined pathways, its entrance alone sets the tone for a serene and picturesque escape. Surrounded by its own vineyard and olive orchards, the property offers breathtaking views and a true taste of Tuscany. The restaurant overlooks the sunset, making every dinner a memorable experience. The rooms are spacious, and the bathrooms are generously sized, adding to the comfort of the stay. One of our favourite features was the pool set amidst olive trees—a peaceful spot to relax, read, and watch the kids play. The pool is open from morning to late evening. I was able to swim quite a few laps as well. With fewer rooms than large resorts, the atmosphere is calm, clean, and never overcrowded. The villa produces its own wine and olive oil, and the staff are incredibly polite and courteous. A special mention goes to Giona, who went above and beyond to make our stay special, especially for my husband’s 40th birthday. The food was outstanding—freshly prepared and full of flavour. The pasta with tomato and aubergine was hands down the best we’ve ever had. For a potato lover like me, the roast potatoes were amazingly seasoned and soooo good. We tried every dessert on the menu, and each one was exceptional. Their house-baked biscotti was a lovely treat too. Breakfast was just right—a mix of sweet items, boiled eggs, cereals, cheese, bread, coffee, and juices. It was perfect for making a quick sandwich and starting the day without needing to venture out early. Our kids especially loved the sweet options! The villa’s location also makes it easy to explore nearby towns like Montepulciano and Siena, which is just about 1 hour and 15 minutes away. This stay was everything we hoped for and more—peaceful, scenic, and full of warmth. We would return in a heartbeat.

Amazing location in one of the most beautiful towns we have ever visited. Silvia had all the local information on check in and we were sorry we missed breakfast first morning as it was an amazing with a big selection of hot and cold foods. Kiara and Elisha were a great help with a young baby at breakfast! We’ll be back

Featuring free WiFi, a restaurant and terrace, Drogheria e Locanda Franci offers rooms and a private villa in Montalcino, in the heart of the Val d'Orcia. Drogheria is a lovely B&B situated in a very old building which has been refurbished to a very high standard. It was comfortable, clean, had excellent amenities and the staff were fantastic. It has stunning views of the fortress and is located perfectly to walk into Montalcino village or exit the town to explore wider Tuscany.

The historic architecture was maintained and serviced with impeccable and up to state standards. When we had difficulty locating public parking, the staff member helped with no hesitation and rode with us to find the parking lot. He also helped with fantastic recommendations for dinner. Breakfast at the dining room was also beyond lovely. The sweet and fresh pastry, fresh fruit and coffee etc will be part of our beautiful memory of San Donato.

The Queen room made an exceptional experience, providing bathtube inside and a little private pool (for 4 is enough) outside on a beautiful, big terrace. All members of the staff were kind and we felt cared for the whole stay. The breakfast was pleasant and varied in al Vecchio Forno trattoria, which is 5-minute walk away.

Located in amidst the Tuscan countryside, Castel Brunello is offers an outdoor swimming pool and a garden. This self-catering accommodation features rustic-style furnishings and free Wi-Fi. The room offers a wonderful view of Sant'angelo In Colle and the Tuscan mountains. Everyone is helpful and kind.

Very unique and beautiful property. The decoration is kept traditional with some modern touches. Breakfast was served in a big dining table and everything was fresh and delicious. Angelina was very polite and helpful. She gave us great restaurant and wine bar recommendations and made sure we feel comfortable to ask for anything we need. All in all, a great stay when visiting Montepulciano.
