Hosts are incredibly kind and gave us a warm welcome. The ryokan is very traditional. The japanese breakfast was amazing and we regret not to have booked the diner (it has to be 3 days in advance and when we saw how the breakfast was made we understood why, so make sure to book it). Location is very close to shops and restaurants. If you have a car, the host will guide you to parking spaces in the adjacent street. The ryokan has 2 onsen like baths shared among customers. Note: there are no private shower or toilet in the rooms.

Authentic Japanese set meals are served for breakfast and dinner. the experience of a Japanese dinner and breakfast was awesome. The staff was incredible and could not have done a better job with the breakfast and dinner. The owner of the property was amazing, she went out of her way to get us our bus schedule and tickets to Shiranawa and Takayama, she took me to the bus station to buy the tickets and pay for the taxi on our return to the hotel, she could not have done a better service. our party of four was very impressed with our stay on October 16th to the 17th.

Hida Takayama Hodakaso Yamano Iori is just a 3-minute walk from JR Takayama Train Station and a 10-minute walk from Old Town and Takayama Jinya and Miyagawa Morning Market. The hotel is located in the center of Takayama city, and there are many restaurants around. The Japanese-style accommodation offers spacious public baths. No meals are provided, but bread and soup are provided as light meals in the room. Free parking is provided on site. The staff are very helpful and kind. They helped to carry luggage to the third floor.

JR Takayama Station is located a 3-minute walk away. Had a great stay with my two kids. Spacious room, and a fantastic onsen, both indoor and outdoor, which we used every day on our stay. One of our best stays on our holiday in Japan. The complimentary evening ramen was also great.

The en suite bathroom has a bath tub and free toiletries. Nice and clean. Room is optimized for space but has everything. The Japanese-style breakfast was superb. Location is convenient and staff went above and beyond. No complaints!
