Situated at the heart of historic Takayama Old Town and just steps away from Takayama Jinya Morning Market, the traditional Honjin Hiranoya Kachoan offers personalised hospitality, hot spring baths... the experience of a Japanese dinner and breakfast was awesome. The staff was incredible and could not have done a better job with the breakfast and dinner. The owner of the property was amazing, she went out of her way to get us our bus schedule and tickets to Shiranawa and Takayama, she took me to the bus station to buy the tickets and pay for the taxi on our return to the hotel, she could not have done a better service. our party of four was very impressed with our stay on October 16th to the 17th.

Just 40 metres from restored Edo-era post town Magome-Juku, Chaya Hotel has simple traditional rooms with futon bedding and a tatami-mat floor. It’s homey and owners are very hospitable. Best location.

One truly has the perspective from the pictures and the Sauna has a very pleasant wood flavor. The brealfast is excellent and the rooms clean and luxory.
