The staff was cordial and the collective amenities in the common area were not short than spectacular, from prime coffee-making tools to high-quality beans and teas. Good common areas and architecture as well.

Situated a 10-minute walk from lively Kawaramachi area, Kyomachiya Ryokan Sakura Urushitei offers Japanese-style accommodation with modern facilities and traditional design. It provides a tour desk and a bar on the ground floor. Free WiFi is available in all areas. Great ryokan experience! Place has a beautiful ambiance. Lounge area was also quite nice. Private Onsen was an awesome experience!

Ideally located just a 10-minute walk from the iconic Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Guesthouse Soi offers various rooms including private Japanese-style rooms and dormitory rooms. Both Kiyomizu Gojo and Shichijo stations for the Keihan Main Line are situated within a 10-minute walk. Free WiFi is available throughout the property. The nicest place, no matter the price just book it.

Opening in March 2014, Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Shinmachi Bettei offers accommodations with a modern yet traditional décor. Free Wi-Fi is available at the entire property and guests can refresh in the public bath. Shijo and Karasuma Station are both within a 10-minute walk away. A good mix between traditional and modern. The bath area in the evening was perfect to relax and get rid of the stress of the day (walking, hiking and so on).

I had booked private room with bathroom and got cutest little room ever! It was soo clean, restrooms and shower room too! Lovely modern hostel with great staff and above everything, super clean! 5 min away from Kyoto station!

To date, this is the best experience we have had in Japan.

All guest rooms are non-smoking and soundproofed. An air-purifier/humidifier and a matcha tea set are provided in each room for guests' comfort. The bathroom comes with a deep bathtub where guests can relax after a long day. Everything was perfect! The room was much better than the pictures. It was super spacious and the view was great. Excellent shower as well. The staff although they didn’t speak good English they were always there to help us.

Extra spacious room, big bath with jacuzzi, unique design for each room, super comfy beds and pillows and great location.

Ideally located just a 2-minute walk from lively Nishiki Market and Ponto-cho Street, Matsui Honkan boasts large public baths and chic Japanese-style rooms. It is within a 10-minute walk from Shijo, Karasuma and Kawaramachi subway stations. Free Wi-Fi is provided at the public area. We loved everything about staying at Matsui Honkan and look forward to the next time we can visit. The whole property is well taken care of, with beautiful traditional features and peaceful classical music playing throughout. There is a high level of attention to detail with thoughtful touches, such as an origami crane to greet you, pjs to wear, and a special treat for our honeymoon. A true highlight was the incredibly kind and cheerful staff. They make this place truly special! We also loved the onsen, what a gorgeous place and a real treat. Best place we’ve ever stayed!

This non-smoking hotel provides in-room massages service can be arranged. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the premises. The staff were excellent! Super attentive, kind, and helpful. Great tattoo friendly Onsen on property as well as a tea ceremony with the owners of the hotel who are the sweetest people. Great experience.
