Boasting luxurious guest rooms with each unique design, The Screen is a boutique hotel located just a 3-minute walk to Kyoto Imperial Palace. Jingu Marutabashi Train Station is a 7-minute walk away. Probably one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in Japan for now. Extra spacious room, big bath with jacuzzi, unique design for each room, super comfy beds and pillows and great location.

We loved everything about staying at Matsui Honkan and look forward to the next time we can visit. The whole property is well taken care of, with beautiful traditional features and peaceful classical music playing throughout. There is a high level of attention to detail with thoughtful touches, such as an origami crane to greet you, pjs to wear, and a special treat for our honeymoon. A true highlight was the incredibly kind and cheerful staff. They make this place truly special! We also loved the onsen, what a gorgeous place and a real treat. Best place we’ve ever stayed!
