The staff is so helpful (I asked for the ingredients of a sauce we like and they printed us a recipe, how cute). We have a massage there. So good. In your room and even good value. Dinner is in your room and they make your bed after. In the middle of town. Amazing place !

Authentic Japanese set meals are served for breakfast and dinner. This was probably our favourite accommodation during our entire trip in Japan. Not only was takayama itself beautiful to travel to by train but the hospitality at Honjin Hiranoya Kachoan was amazing and I would definitely return here when I come to Takayama next. Would definitely recommend the traditional meal experience as well! They will also pick you up/drop you off at the train station as well for no extra cost!
