Re-opened in 2012 after thorough renovations, the Tokyo Station Hotel is registered as an Important Cultural Property and boasts gorgeous rooms in a classical European style. Everything was fabulous. 10/10 quality service, friendly staff and value for money.

Situated in the Asakusa area, Ryokan Asakusa Shigetsu has a history of 70 years. The accommodation boasts a view of the Tokyo Skytree from its Hinoki wood bath. I know I have to stay in ryokan rather than hotel. and this place, is perfect. the location is literally in the asakusa shopping district around the temple so that's really convenient. altough sometimes for me I kind of overstimulated by the crowd but this ryokan in the quieter side. The staff is very helpful, especially when I need to send my luggage to the airport, they partnered with JAL services for same day luggage service. everything went well. The room is clean, it's kinda small but enough. the public bath is to die for. 2 nights in a row I got Tokyo Skytree view which is beautiful. they also have cute tiny garden in the rooftop with the same view. totally breathtaking, worth the money, definitely will come here again.

Shiba Park Hotel is just a 2-minute walk from Onarimon Subway Station and a 4-minute walk from Daimon Subway Station. I can't find a fault, and I will try to go back when I'm in Tokyo. The location was perfect, quiet, with two metro stations really close and a lot of conbini around. A very good place to start and visit the whole city. Free coffee and tea at the reception (we don't have breakfast, only coffee in the morning, so that was ideal), a comfortable lounge with library at your disposal. The room was of adequate size, with a table and small sofa for snacking. Beds were comfy and the bathroom clean and spacious enough, even though quite small.

Open from December 2015, Richmond Hotel Premier Tokyo Schole is located just a 2-minute walk from Oshiage Subway Station, the closest station from the Tokyo Skytree. Location: train station across the street, hotel right over a grocery store, safe area, right beside the mall and Skytree Staff: so helpful and friendly Restaurant on site, laundry, toiletries in lobby

Opened in August 2014 after a thorough renovation, Hotel Ryumeikan Ochanomizu Honten has been offering heartfelt hospitality for more than a century. The size of the room is amazing for Tokyo. From the tetami mats to the super bathroom, it makes you feel like you are visiting a traditional Ryokan. The front desk is super helpful. They were able to help arrange last minute restaurant reservations. A 10 all round. Location is super. Not crowded, loads of restaurant options and only 15 minutes walk to Akihabara, Imperial Palace

Set within a historic Japanese garden, Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo offers spacious rooms with garden or city views and free Wi-Fi. This is an exquisite hotel, beautifully and authentically Japanese. The staff were very caring and helped teach me some Japanese! I was there solo and I felt very nurtured and safe in this stunning place.

Ryokan Kamogawa Asakusa is a 2-minute walk from Kaminarimon and Sensoji Temple. Asakusa Subway Station is a 5-minute walk away. Super comfortable room, I loved the futon. The staff at the reception were super friendly and helpful. I can 100% recommend it.

Open from December 2015, Hotel Risveglio Akasaka is located just a 2-minute walk from Akasaka Mitsuke Station on the Marunouchi Line. The hotel is wonderful. The staff is incredibly helpful. No matter if you have questions about luggage delivery service or anything. They are always ready to help. The breakfast is great, good portion size, you can choose between Japanese breakfast or American/European breakfasts. A great way to start the day. The location is only a short walk from the tube station with plenty of little restaurants and shops along the way.
