Re-opened in 2012 after thorough renovations, the Tokyo Station Hotel is registered as an Important Cultural Property and boasts gorgeous rooms in a classical European style. Completely amazing experience! Everyone who can should stay here at least once : )

Situated in the Asakusa area, Ryokan Asakusa Shigetsu has a history of 70 years. The accommodation boasts a view of the Tokyo Skytree from its Hinoki wood bath. great location and nicely decorated. The staffs were very nice and helpful.

Shiba Park Hotel is just a 2-minute walk from Onarimon Subway Station and a 4-minute walk from Daimon Subway Station. I can't find a fault, and I will try to go back when I'm in Tokyo. The location was perfect, quiet, with two metro stations really close and a lot of conbini around. A very good place to start and visit the whole city. Free coffee and tea at the reception (we don't have breakfast, only coffee in the morning, so that was ideal), a comfortable lounge with library at your disposal. The room was of adequate size, with a table and small sofa for snacking. Beds were comfy and the bathroom clean and spacious enough, even though quite small.

Open from December 2015, Richmond Hotel Premier Tokyo Schole is located just a 2-minute walk from Oshiage Subway Station, the closest station from the Tokyo Skytree. Location: train station across the street, hotel right over a grocery store, safe area, right beside the mall and Skytree Staff: so helpful and friendly Restaurant on site, laundry, toiletries in lobby

Opened in August 2014 after a thorough renovation, Hotel Ryumeikan Ochanomizu Honten has been offering heartfelt hospitality for more than a century. The size of the room is amazing for Tokyo. From the tetami mats to the super bathroom, it makes you feel like you are visiting a traditional Ryokan. The front desk is super helpful. They were able to help arrange last minute restaurant reservations. A 10 all round. Location is super. Not crowded, loads of restaurant options and only 15 minutes walk to Akihabara, Imperial Palace

Set within a historic Japanese garden, Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo offers spacious rooms with garden or city views and free Wi-Fi. This is an exquisite hotel, beautifully and authentically Japanese. The staff were very caring and helped teach me some Japanese! I was there solo and I felt very nurtured and safe in this stunning place.

Ryokan Kamogawa Asakusa is a 2-minute walk from Kaminarimon and Sensoji Temple. Asakusa Subway Station is a 5-minute walk away. The staff is so kind and helpful.

Perfect central location in fun Tokyo neighbourhood with lots of great restaurants and good metro connections. Good value for money with nice menu style breakfast at the connecting restaurant
