Located on a hilltop and overlooking Lake Kawaguchi, the hotel serves French dinner with an advance reservation. The view was phenomenal. The food was perfection. It isn't a traditional ryokan stay, but it had a unique charm to it. Would recommend.

Luxurious ryokan Fuji Onsenji Yumedono is located just 500 metres from Lake Kawaguchiko. It features traditional Japanese cuisine served in the dining area, suites with in-room hot springs and a garden. The whole onsen experience was amazing. From the reception to being introduced to the room. We had yukata's (traditional home garments). Our private onsen was great. The room was beautiful, The futon bed super comfy. The food was OMG.... literally Michelin star (and I've bee at Michelin star restaurants). Staff was extremely helpful and assisted us booking travel to any place around. The location was great to just take a stroll and discover the Kawaguchi lake.

The property is a 15-minute drive from Kawaguchiko Train Station. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, providing clear information about the villas, including how the AC and the house work, as well as tips about the surrounding area. The restaurant recommendations they gave us were absolutely spot-on, 10/10! If you visit, be sure to experience the onsen while gazing at Mt. Fuji through the window.

The staff were exceptional; the manager at the front desk was so helpful with forwarding our luggage and had excellent English, tending to any request we had. Free coffee available at the reception was delicious! The onsen and observatory were fantastic and both have a Mt Fuji view if you wish to relax on a clear day and admire the beauty. The hotel is perfectly located on the edge of the lake if you wish to go for a walk or rent a bike. Thank you to all staff at the Kawaguchiko hotel, it has been our favourite part of our trip.
