Before travelling to Sri Lanka, and before booking my stay with Glenn and Fiona ( and mustn't forget Sita- without whom the stay would would not have been the same), I googled reviews 27 Spathodea's and all were raving how perfect this homestay was. They were all spot on. Glenn and Fiona's home is absolutely beautiful, and even though they were out of the country, Glenn in particular bent over backwards to keep in contact with me, both before and during our stay, to ensure everything was in place, He advised us on so many things that as visitors, we may may have over looked or been unaware of. Sita, their on-site manager was the same, smiling, generous with her time, always amenable to every request. Nothing was ever too much trouble. She even went out of her way to take us to set us up with sim cards, and show us nearest banks etc. She was kindness itself. Her breakfasts and evening meals were as good as any restaurant The location, though close to transport, and shops, was peaceful and quiet. I would 100% recommend this gem of a place to any fellow traveller. The hosts are kind, caring, generous and thoughtful. What more could you want.

Beautiful Building. The art work was amazing. Food in the restaurant was excellent. Massive breakfast included.

A minibar and a personal safe are included. Historic hotel in great location. Fantastic food. Amazing pool and spa. The nightly flàg ceremony was interesting. Lots of different bars in the hotel to pick from.

Each room comes with a flat-screen TV and safety deposit box. All rooms include a private bathroom offering free toiletries. The room was very clean and comfortable, we really enjoyed their breakfast. Ordered a special lunch based on Siva's recommendation,Jaffna Crab curry and fresh water jumbo tiger prawns devil both tasted outstanding. Kudos to the chef who made those outstanding dishes which we all thoroughly enjoyed it and also a big thank you to Roger from dinning for his absolute outstanding service which made our day so special.

The contemporary private bathrooms feature bath amenities and a hairdryer. We stayed for one night. Requested the reception staff to give us a good room and they provided a perfect room. My daughter enjoyed the sea and city view from the same window! Checked out very early at 4AM. But the reception supported very promptly.

The beautiful hotel has a wine cellar, a rooftop café and air-conditioned rooms with a flat-screen cable TV. Free Wi-Fi and parking are provided. The room was well appointed with all the necessary resources and a small desk. The shower was a good size and most importantly with piping hot water

Zylan Colombo is 2 km from National Museum and Independent Square, while Colombo City Centre is 3 km away. The resort is a 5-minute drive from Boralella Bus Station. Everything. The hotel is very beautiful, rooms are spacious and comfortable. The decoration of all the spaces is very well cared for. Both restaurants are a must, because of the food and the atmosphere. The rooftop pool is a big plus. But without a doubt the best thing is the staff, super friendly and always willing to help to make your stay a pleasant one. Special mention to Madhu, who works at the reception, who went out of his way to make me feel at home.
