The Galle Fort Hotel began life as an 18th Century Dutch villa and along the way has taken many guises from RAF barracks, post office, bakery, lapidary and in the recent past a pitch for the Fort’s... We had an absolutely amazing stay at the Galle Fort. We arrived late in the evening and they came with refreshing towels and even had kept the restaurant open given that they assumed we would not have had dinner so that we could still order something which is super super considerate. The room was great, spacious and clean. We asked for a late checkout and while this was not possible anymore they provided us the ability to still take a shower at the end of the day and use their facilities before we would leave for the airport which was so much more than we expected. We also could leave our bags there. Breakfast was amazing and the chef himself checked in for every meal we had. We also had dinner the next day which was very good. The hotel is in a great location in the fort and beautifully maintained. The staff was ABSOLUTELY wonderful and did everything they could to make our stay as pleasant as possible, we would for sure stay here again in the future and I can recommend it to everyone. Thank you all so much!!!

Very close to the beach, shops , bus station and railway station. Very beautiful garden. Room is very spacious . comfortable beds. Good air conditioning and hot water. We really had a wonderful stay at Seagreen Guesthouse! The staff was extremely friendly and very helpful. Whenever we had a question they were very happy to help and give us tips on what to see around Galle Fort. As the Guesthouse is located in the centre, it is easy to explore the city by foot. For further destinations they have a tuk tuk driver just for the Guesthouse who can also take you on day tours. You find the different tours in a booklet which was layed out in the bedroom. What we liked a lot was that you can personalize the tour according to what you like! The driver was very friendly and explained everything to us, his english is really good! Another highlight was the roof terrace! 😍 Perfect for watching the sunset! Also, our room was very clean, better than the hotels we stayed in, to be honest :D I liked that you can add breakfast if you want to, this way you are flexible, I can definitely recommend the fruit platter though, it is huge and filled with lots of tropical fruits. Overall we had a lovely stay in Galle Fort and we would recommend it 100%.

It was my best place in Sri Lanka & I had an excellent stay at Fort De 19, The location inside the fort overlooking the Ramparts , Fort walls & the ocean is brilliant. Balcony room i stayed was beautiful, Charming & modern, specially HIGH CEILING was a ++ point for us. Bathroom & Room was spotlessly clean. Its very calm & silent during the night though its in front of the street. WIFI was excellent & can enjoy a coffee/tea in the balcony which was great. i was Sitting in the roof top area watching children fly their kites before dusk was almost magical. Theekshana was a nice Host, communicates well & always there for any help. I cannot recommend this place more highly.
