Amazing breakfast, different each morning & they took the time & explained the local food to us. Location right in the middle of the old fort, easy access & walking to everything. Room size was large & bathroom very big. Decor lovely, even had our own private breakfast patio amongst the garden. Monkeys in the trees above. Definitely would stay again & not hesitate to recommend. Staff beautiful helpful people.

The Galle Fort Hotel began life as an 18th Century Dutch villa and along the way has taken many guises from RAF barracks, post office, bakery, lapidary and in the recent past a pitch for the Fort’s... The property is beautiful and well maintained. We loved the customer service, everyone was very friendly and helpful.

Close to a clean and comfortable beach for swimming, a bus station, a railway station, shops, markets, and cafes. Everything you need is within walking distance from the house. The house itself and the surrounding area are very tidy , beautiful and clean. The owner, his family, and the assistant are friendly and pleasant people. There are tables and chairs on the premises, perfect for relaxing. There's also a shared living room where we had interesting conversations with the owner. Additionally, we were taught how to cook jackfruit and banana flower. After cooking, we enjoyed a communal dinner. The breakfasts are fresh and delicious. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with everything necessary provided. It’s convenient for both short stays and longer-term visits. Thank you for the hospitality. We highly recommend this place for staying in Hikkaduwa!

Adjacent to Unawatuna Beach, Sergent House is set in a boutique villa showcasing colonial architecture and originating in the 1800's. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The courtyard is beautiful, the staff are friendly and the food was delicious!

Sri Lankan architectural master piece Dunes Unawatuna hotel is an eco friendly boutique hotel near the beautiful Unawatuna beach(100 meters/ 5min walk away). We stayed at the hotel, in room 12, for 5 days in November 2025. The hotel is wonderful—a quiet oasis on a busy street, with everything nearby, including shops, cafes, and massage parlors. The beach is a 5-minute walk away. The hotel staff is extremely friendly, the room is authentic, there is a lot of greenery around, everything works, the plumbing is new, the beds are comfortable, and there are no mosquitoes. We will be sure to come back again!

Nice and clean room with a big bed and garden view. Beautiful garden and pool area, always clean and with available and helpful staff. Very good food in the restaurant. Near the beach.
