The room was spotless, comfortable, and full of thoughtful touches that made it feel like home. A special thank you to Rumeshika, who was incredibly kind, attentive, and welcoming. Her warmth and care truly made my stay memorable. Breakfast was delicious, and the location is perfect — right in the heart of Galle Fort yet so calm and quiet. The Galle Fort Hotel began life as an 18th Century Dutch villa and along the way has taken many guises from RAF barracks, post office, bakery, lapidary and in the recent past a pitch for the Fort’s... Beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of Galle Fort. Well designed and appointed with super friendly and helpful staff, gorgeous food and very comfortable and individual accommodation. If you can appreciate nice, home-made (organic) food, being part of local nature and culture, well-equipped rooms (fan, no a/c) this hide-away could enrich body, soul and positive feelings about Sri Lanka.

The room was super spacious with high ceilings, making it feel airy and bright. The bathroom was also large and very functional. But it’s not just the room—the entire building was spotless! We even had our own rooftop with an incredible view. We stayed for five days and never even left the Fort area—everything, from top-class restaurants to cozy cafés, was within walking distance, so we didn’t need a tuk-tuk at all. The people were amazing—always kind and smiling. Next time we visit, we won’t even look for another place; we’ll definitely stay here again. 100% recommended!

Adjacent to Unawatuna Beach, Sergent House is set in a boutique villa showcasing colonial architecture and originating in the 1800's. The hotel garden is exceptinal. I believe they are the best one in Unawatuna. The breakfast is beyond expectations. Pool is lovely for the familys, we prefer to swim in the sea. They have a private beach but maybe it may be season effect, the sea was so wavy. There are good beaches reachable by tuk tuk.

Sri Lankan architectural master piece Dunes Unawatuna hotel is an eco friendly boutique hotel near the beautiful Unawatuna beach(100 meters/ 5min walk away). Nice property close to the beach. Beautiful garden and great food. Aesthetically built with sustainable design.
