Avalon, in a tranquil garden setting, offers self-catering cottages with free Wi-Fi and balconies overlooking the valley and the Puketotora River. Our cottage was surrounded by lush green and they had great facilities. The spa was top notch and they even had fresh water pool. Brad was a super helpful host and was very accommodating to our requests. He made sure we had everything to make it a memorable stay. Overall a solid guy. It had a nice patio, really good shower, star link internet, a smart TV, great kitchen and super clean linens. I highly recommend Avalon resort.

Mike and Wookie were the perfect hosts with the perfect home! We were so lucky we had the chance to stay with them and only wish we had more time. The space is fabulous, well equipped and very clean. The hot tub with the view made it so memorable. And having morning breakfast with Mike’s delicious food and Wookie keeping us company made us feel at home. If you’re lucky enough to snag an apartment here book it!

It's located at the top of a hill and has outstanding views. Jeanette our host was absolutely lovely and made it feel like we were staying with family. Breakfast was fantastic and freshly cooked each day with the choice of continental with yummy fresh fruit salad as an added bonus or a eggs, bacon and such. The lodge is not right in town center, but it's a short 15 walk to get to the cafes and restaurants. It's also within 10 to 1 hour drive to many awesome experiences and places. So you can see beautiful beaches and go surfing near by, do walking routes and explore cliffs, forrest and waterfalls or even a little city life in Whangarei.

Overlooking the sparkling waters of Mangonui Harbour, Mangonui Waterfront Apartments is the most centrally and conveniently located accommodation in the historic and beautiful village of Mangonui. We stayed two nights in these perfectly located Apartments. The host was super nice, as he was very friendly to chat with as well as he helped us out extending one more night by juggeling bookings around just to make it work. Tank you again! Besides the awesome location right on the waterfront the apartments have everything you need to feel comfy and also to prepare your dinner in the good working kitchen.
