The location is in a peaceful place little away from the commercial activity.

Great place to stay! The bed was really comfortable, and our room had a spa bath, which was fantastic! Great air conditioning, comfy pillows, good sized towels, and right across the road from the local pub. The breakfast left in our room each night was great too. Toast, fruit, yoghurt, cereal. More than enough. It was one of the nicer motels I've stayed in.

Nestled in a garden landscape, Shining Star offers self-contained beachfront chalets with free WiFi and a private balcony just steps from clear blue waters. Providing free parking and featuring beach access. Our accommodation was delightful - one half of a log cabin. The location was ideal, an easy walk into town and right across from the glow worm dell. Although the motel was right on the highway it was very quiet.

Greymouth and Hokitika are both within 25 minutes' drive away. Pleasantly surprised. The old hotel has been nicely renovated and is furnished with period pieces. It was like stepping back in time. I liked the way they named their rooms for old celebrities. Lovely pub with outdoor dining

The owner was very helpful in every way, and the location was perfect for everything.
