Surrounded by beautiful native trees and bush land, Aspen Court Motel Franz Josef offers guests free Wi-Fi. Opened in December 2013, the property offers heated rooms with a flat-screen TV. The counter staff was friendly. We had one apartment and a studio, both were spacious and clean, and the bed was comfortable. The location was excellent - good eating places (e.g, Alice May) and local points of interest (e.g. Terrace Walk to watch Glow Worm after dark) are within walking distances. It is an easy drive to the Franz Josef glacier area. The jacuzzi in the apartment was great for both adults to relax and kids to have fun. The whole neighborhood environment was nice and quite for pleasant leisure walks around. We highly recommend this place for visitors to Franz Josef.

Located on the west coast of the south island, Theatre Royal Hotel offers a restaurant and a bar. The themed rooms offer antique furnishings and cable TV. Some rooms include free WiFi access. The delicious food at the restaurant and the experience of dining in a space that felt almost like living as a local made this the most wonderful feel of our entire trip. I hope to return to this place the next time I visit New Zealand.
