Located within the walls of the Marvão Castle, at the top of the high village of Marvão, Dom Dinis Marvão features a rooftop terrace with a Jacuzzi® and panoramic views of the countryside below. We got upgraded to the best room, that has a small terrace with a stunning view and direct access to the jacuzzi that we also enjoyed after booking in the reception. Everyone was nice, the room was very comfortable and we enjoyed the breakfast.

Surrounded by vast, tree-lined gardens, the charming Convento São Paulo offers 2 outdoor pools a tennis court and offers 4 padel courts. A very interesting convent in lovely countryside. We could explore the historic building. We were here in November so didn’t get chance to use the swimming pool but that looked worth coming back for. There are a couple of great walks laid out in the Convent estate. We had a good dinner in the restaurant. The room and breakfast were excellent, staff very helpful. We have already recommended it to friends who also travel in the area.

Featuring an outdoor pool, Royal Cocoa Company Palace offers accommodation in Montemor-o-Novo. The unit is in a chocolate factory, integrated into a palatial estate. Absolutely outstanding experience! We were treated to a visit to the palacete on our arrival, followed by a scrumptious afternoon tea. We were the only guests for the night, but we felt the family did absolutely everything to make us feel at home. Including an extensive breakfast buffet, made up of homemade and regional goodies, before we were taken round the chocolate factory. All in all, this was the best hotel experience I've had for a very long time

This property is located in the country side on a 5-minute drive out of Évora, one of Portugal’s most historic cities and the famed Roman Temple. Exceeded our expectations! Exceptional hosts. Place was so unique with gardens and house but mostly the animals stole my heart! I would recommend this stay!

The Estalagem de Marvão is located within the historic walled town center of Marvão. I like the building and its facilities very much, very comfortable. It was cold outside, but warm inside cause of the heater. João is very friendly and helpful who even came to help with the luggage and help to book the restaurant. The breakfast was rich and the location was great. But it was raining heavily and foggy, so I couldn't visit the castle, but I will come here again.

Set in a refurbished traditional Alentejo house is 3 km from Évora. Accommodations at Governador are bright and come with views of the surrounding country landscape. Some units have a four-poster bed.... We loved everything about our stay at Casa do Governador. A very peaceful spot just a few minutes drive from Evora. The property is extensive with olive groves and vineyards to wander through. The pool was refreshing after a hot day touring Evora. We stayed in the main house and the room was large, beds comfortable. Staff were very attentive and helpful for our requests. Breakfast was plentiful with hot and cold options and we had dinner one night that was delicious. Would highly recommend a stay at this gracious country home.

Just 2km from Monsaraz Castle, Monte Alerta is surrounded by a meditation garden, organic orchard and next to the largest artificial lake in Europe, the Alqueva. We liked how welcoming Victoria was. She was an excellent host. Our room (#3) was spacious and very comfortable. We enjoyed the breakfast and the pool. We liked the proximity to Monsaraz and to the OLA stargazing as both were just 5 minutes away. It was a good base for 4 days with day trips to Monsaraz, Evora and Estromoz. We plan on returning for a fall or spring visit.
