The Estalagem de Marvão is located within the historic walled town center of Marvão. I like the building and its facilities very much, very comfortable. It was cold outside, but warm inside cause of the heater. João is very friendly and helpful who even came to help with the luggage and help to book the restaurant. The breakfast was rich and the location was great. But it was raining heavily and foggy, so I couldn't visit the castle, but I will come here again.

Set in a refurbished traditional Alentejo house is 3 km from Évora. Accommodations at Governador are bright and come with views of the surrounding country landscape. Some units have a four-poster bed.... Fantastic place for a peaceful getaway in picturesque rural surroundings! The hotel and rooms are charming, cozy and sparkling clean, and all the facilities and pools are well taken care of. Staff is exceptional, everyone we met was very helpful, hospitable and friendly, and made us feel very welcome. The food was one of the many highlights for sure, our dinner at the hotel was a delight, and we greatly appreciated the staff coming in earlier the day of our check out so that we could have breakfast before early flight home (and it was freshly baked croissants, what a treat!). All in all, we absolutely loved our stay at A Casa do Governador, and will be happy to come back!

Just 2km from Monsaraz Castle, Monte Alerta is surrounded by a meditation garden, organic orchard and next to the largest artificial lake in Europe, the Alqueva. We liked how welcoming Victoria was. She was an excellent host. Our room (#3) was spacious and very comfortable. We enjoyed the breakfast and the pool. We liked the proximity to Monsaraz and to the OLA stargazing as both were just 5 minutes away. It was a good base for 4 days with day trips to Monsaraz, Evora and Estromoz. We plan on returning for a fall or spring visit.
