Welcome to the property was great. Little touches like Beirao in the room and a pastry too were wonderful! The grounds are beautiful and historic. We will definitely return!!

Hotel Botanico de Coimbra is located in Coimbra, just 200 metres from Coimbra University and its Botanical Gardens. The unit is a 10-minute walk from the city’s historical centre and República Square.... Hotel location is very good, Coimbra University and Botanical garden are just a short walk away. Hotel is good and the staff is very friendly and welcoming. They went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and also provided us with the baby crib. In the morning, a good breakfast was served that had enough options to choose from.

It was our first time in Coimbra (2 hour drive from Braga) and we weren't sure where a "perfect" location would be but Vila Gale turned out to be perfect. Just a mere 8-10 min pleasant walk to downtown and quick 4 min drive to the Coimbra Forum (shopping center) and the famous Portugal dos Pequenitos (not to be missed!). We got a family suite and it was quite large and clean. Breakfast buffet was quite varied and well stocked. We also got lunch from the bar and ate poolside. Pool was amazing - even though a bit chilly - but to be expected mid-April. Would definitely stay again.
