Featuring free WiFi access available throughout, Hotel Fabrica do Chocolate offers rooms in Viana do Castelo, a 6-minute walk from the Lima River. The service and food were so good! The free pass to the museum was fun also! I enjoyed the good chocolate and the free cocktail! The room was very nice and the bed was soft!

The Hotel da Oliveira is within the historical Guimarães city centre, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Guimarães Castle, the city’s most iconic landmark is 150 metres away. - best place to have breakfast in Guimarães - in the heart of town - extremely friendly personal - the city is the essence of Portugal in my eyes. If you miss it, you missed a very important part of the country - recommendation to stay over night, to see city late night and early morning :)

Located in the Peneda-Gerês National Park, Lagoa Azul do Geres offers apartments and rooms overlooking Albufeira da Caniçada and the outdoor pool. We had the mountain view room. Wonderful to wake up and see the view from the balcony. Room was very spacious including a kitchen where we had our late-night dinner. So sorry we spent only one night there...

Situated in a 12th century Augustin Convent, the Pousada Mosteiro de Guimaraes overlooks Guimarães. Rooms are equipped with modern amenities including air conditioning and cable TV. Absolutely beautiful and well maintained. Staff was helpful. Dinner was fantastic, breakfast was delicious. This is the place where you want to spend your first honeymoon night in room 524.

Located in Braga, Tea 4 Nine Guest House lunch is served in the apartments. This self-catering accommodation features free WiFi. Super clean apartment on the first floor with needed kitchen equipment for make a light meal. The apartment is all white, which makes it easy to see that the apartment is very clean. There are bathrobes and slippers for when one gets back “home”, and dishwasher for cleaning the dishes so one does not need to hand wash. The bed and pillows are on the firm side (perfect for me). There is a small convenience/supermarket just a few steps away, and a larger one (Pingo Doce) about 5 min walk away (I am a speed walker FYI). The bus terminal is 5 min away (Google map says 7 min). All the “tourist sites” are near the apartment. Train station is about a 10 min walk (Google map says 13-15 min). Can’t comment on parking as I didn’t drive, but I saw parking sign near the square where the apartment is located. Margarida provides breakfast for the entire stay, so please let her know if there is any dietary restriction. I didn’t as I didn’t expect it to be a “complete” continental breakfast (bread, prosciutto, cheese, milk, fruit juice, fruit, water, soda and even a bottle of vino verde!). I am gluten/sodium/sugar free due to health issues, so it isn’t easy for me when I travel, but for future visits I would definitely let Margarida know about my dietary restrictions. Overall I really enjoyed this stay and would definitely stay here again when I am back to Braga!

Located in a pedestrian street of Viana do Castelo city centre, Casa Manuel Espregueira e Oliveira is a renovated 19th-century townhouse with a 24-hour reception and an airport shuttle. Breakfast was fabulous. Location, exceptional. Right in the middle of the town. Owner and her husband spoke little English but other employee was always accessable and very helpful. Much history to the home and the staff shared that with much pride. We took an UBER from Porto but then took the bus back to the Porto Airport. Very dooable. We loved the city of Viana do Castelo. Such a relaxing and more Portuguese place that Porto. Lots to see.

Featuring a 16th century manor house surrounded by lush gardens, Casa do Ameal is located 1 km from Viana do Castelo’s historic centre. It includes a swimming pool and free parking. Lovely property in great location. It was quiet with spectacular outdoor spaces to sit and relax. Super host and very comfortable rooms.

My partner and I had a wonderful stay at Mercearia da Vila in Ponte de Lima. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the charm and warmth of this beautiful building right in the heart of the town. The location couldn’t be better, just a 2 min walk to the historic centre, the river, and plenty of lovely restaurants and cafes. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and beautiful decorated with a perfect blend of modern amenities and traditional touches. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the bed was incredibly comfortable, we slept so well each night.

This newly renovated mansion is peacefully situated in the heart of Afife, and offers warmly decorated rooms with free Wi-Fi. Guests can enjoy regional cuisine and relax in the gardens with its pool. The Casa is a superb restored stone home with attractive rooms and amazing decor! The pool was very appreciated after a long, hot day on the Camino! The included breakfast was excellent and the experience was very positive.

Beautifully restored monastery with an atmoshere of peace and tranquility . Very spacious common areas . Nice view . Nice garden . Nice swimming pool . Very friendly staff . We shall come back
