The hotel is in a beautiful location and the rooms are spacious. The best thing is the friendly staff and the shared dinners with other hotel guests. Excellent food and company! I highly recommend this place.

There are hiking trails where you can do bird watching and go thru the wine yards. There are facilities for kayaking too, everything included (paddles, kayaks, and lifesavers). This 17th-century mansion offers contemporary-style rooms with modern comforts in Provesende, a 15-minute drive from Pinhão Train Station. Morgadio da Calçada is 11 km from Douro River. The ancient house is situated within the vineyards. The house is already for 400 years in de family. Very friendly owner and staff. Breakfast was excellent (you could order any kind of eggs) and the bread was freshly baked. Dinner with wine pairings was top of the pudding! Nice swimming pool!
