The host couple are amazing, so friendly, helpful and genuinely nice people. They give great advice on where to go and give you a lift each time you need to go to the bus or train station. Rooms are basic but a good size and a fridge with water you get each day. The location is perfect with a lovely garden and you're right next to a local market if you fancy a Thai breakfast. Easy bike ride into town to the night markets and main strip, imo if you come to kanchanaburi this is the area you want to stay in. You can hire bikes to get into town only 40 baht and can hire a motorbike if you want to travel further away.

Floating atop the scenic River Kwai, this unique Thai folk-style resort is surrounded by tropical forests and mountains of Saiyoke. We wish we could've stayed longer. It started with a warm welcome - we were given cold towels and tea for refreshment. The staff were kind and helpful (my partner forgot his bag when we were already on the boat, luckily one of the staff handed the bag to us on the other side of the pier). The rooms exceeded my expectation, the bed was comfortable. The toilet and bathroom were clean. They had complete necessities. Plenty of choices for their breakfast. The food was great too, we paid separate for our dinner - they have western/european choices in their menu such as fish and chips, burger etc. It was indeed quiet and peaceful - great time to be away from the city. The view, the whole idea of the Float House is very aesthetic. They offer many other activities too, but sadly we were not able to do any.
