Koya Guest House is a classic Ryokan inn. The place has its character and it is a privilege indeed to have a chance to stay in a guest house like this. There is a garden outside the common area where you can sit and enjoy the quiet beauty of the place. My room has everything for me to feel comfortable. I am very happy I booked this place. Breakfast is simple but a good start for a day, with an unlimited team and coffee during the day.

It was such a great experience! I wish I could stay longer! I really enjoyed this traditional ryokan! Tatami made the room so comfortable and I had there the best sleep during the whole trip! The owners were super kind, attentive and kind! the tea ceremony was so interesting, breakfast was so delicious and the onsen was so great! Next time in Kyoto I will definitely stay longer!

The traditional Japanese wooden house with the tatami floor bedrooms, very comfortable futons and the private garden view with the camelia blossoms. Amazing breakfast and tea & coffee facilities. The host was really welcoming and provided excellent restaurant recommendations. Good location and easy connection with great coffee and food near by, check out Yoshihara for amazing coffee. The public onsen was incredible. We will be back!

The place was quiet, clean, and cozy. The staff were incredibly thoughtful and supportive. I left my luggage before check-in, and when I returned, it had already been delivered to my room. One staff member even walked me to a nearby public bathhouse and guided me through how to use it, as it was my first time. I’ll definitely come back on my next trip to Kyoto.

Wonderful stay!! The room was huge and the personal onsen was very relaxing after walking all day. It is about 10 minutes away from the subway and there are many temples and shrines near by. Staff was amazing and always available for help.
